Ricoh named in “Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovators 2022” list

TOKYO, February 24, 2022 – Ricoh was recognised as a “Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovators 2022” announced today by Clarivate Plc, a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation. This recognition is given to organisations that demonstrate consistent, above-the-bar innovation excellence and which sit at the very top of the global innovation ecosystem.

To select the top 100 global innovators, Clarivate analyses patent trends using the proprietary index based on its own patent data, and evaluates the companies according to five indicators: Volume of inventive activity (registered patents in the past five years), Success (percentage of applications approved as patents), Globalisation (number of patents applied in major markets), Influence (frequency of own patents being cited by other companies’ patents), and Technical Distinctiveness. This marks the third time Ricoh has been selected since 2012 and 2014.

In light of Ricoh’s transformation from OA manufacturer to a digital services company, Ricoh plans and executes intellectual property strategies for various countries we offer digital services. Ricoh acquires innovation that leads to competition and collaboration with various stakeholders as intellectual property and promotes its utilisation.
