PaperCut MF/NG vulnerability (March 2023)

Ricoh understands the importance of security and is committed to managing its products and services with the most advanced security technologies possible for its customers worldwide. 

As a distributor of PaperCut software, we would like to advise that PaperCut has received vulnerability reports for two newly identified high/critical severity security vulnerabilities in its MF/NG software. Papercut does not have any evidence of these vulnerabilities being used against customers at this point.

If you use PaperCut software, you will need to start working on the rectification of the environment. PaperCut has provided an updated version of the application that rectifies the identified vulnerabilities.

What do I need to do?

PaperCut has recommended you apply the latest upgrade at the earliest opportunity. You can do this by following the recommended upgrade procedure which can be found at the following link.  

You can get the latest update from the admin console of the PaperCut server: ‘Check for updates’ page (accessed through the Admin interface > About > Version info > Check for updates) will allow customers to download fixes for previous major versions which are still supported (e.g. 20.1.7 and 21.2.11) as well as the current version (22.0.9).
