An Overview

ITW Group operates at a significant global scale, supported by a diverse portfolio of operating divisions and an extensive international footprint. Behind this scale of operations, efficient document production plays a critical role in keeping everything moving smoothly, from everyday administrative paperwork to essential invoices and shipping documentation across offices and warehouses.

As business demands continued to grow, ITW recognised a clear opportunity: modernise their print environment to better support performance, reliability, and long-term scalability across Australia and New Zealand.

After evaluating multiple providers, ITW selected Ricoh as a strategic print partner to help transform its fleet. The result was a fast, seamless rollout—63 devices deployed across 17 locations in just six weeks.

The refreshed fleet delivers the right mix of capability for every environment, including a combination of desktop and multifunction devices designed to support diverse workloads across the business.

The Challenges

To maintain fast, reliable service to customers, ITW operates a distributed network of offices and warehouses focused on efficient order fulfilment. However, its ageing printer fleet was no longer keeping pace with growing operational demands.

Increasing performance issues and reliability concerns began to disrupt day-to-day workflows, creating inefficiencies and adding unnecessary pressure on staff.

The Solution

From the outset, Ricoh worked closely with ITW’s technical teams to undertake a printer audit to help understand site-specific requirements, and everyday operational workflows.

To support confident decision-making, Ricoh provided loan devices so ITW could test performance in real-world conditions. This hands-on approach helped build trust early and ensured the final solution was closely aligned to operational needs.

Shortly after, Ricoh designed and delivered a refreshed fleet featuring the Ricoh IM C3010, IM C4510, IM C320F, IM 460F and P 502 printers. Balancing performance, cost efficiency, and ease of use across 17 locations, the full rollout was completed in just six weeks, with minimal disruption to business operations.

Being able to match the printer models with specific workloads has helped to reduce our running costs. We really appreciated the time Ricoh took to examine our requirements and put together the most appropriate fleet of devices.

The Benefits

With the new solution in place, ITW are experiencing a range of tangible benefits across the business.

  • 40% reduction in printer-related IT tickets, significantly lowering support demand and improving overall operational stability
  • Lower operating costs through smarter device alignment, with printers matched to specific workloads for maximum efficiency and minimal waste

  • Smoother, uninterrupted workflows across warehouses and offices, ensuring critical documents like invoices and shipping notes are produced without delay
  • Faster, more responsive support model, with Ricoh handling print issues directly and relieving pressure on internal IT teams

The entire deployment was swift, and all printers were up and running within just weeks,” said Morland. “We’re confident that we have found a print vendor that we can work with both now and in the future.
