Community Involvement and Sponsorship
Ricoh have partnerships with a number of sporting and community based organisations. Our sponsorships show our commitment to supporting the local communities in which we work.
Hawthorn Football Club
Ricoh began sponsoring the Hawthorn Football Club, one of 16 teams who participate in the AFL, in 2005. In 2007 the partnership was furthered strengthened when Ricoh became a Silver Sponsor of the club. To date the the Hawks have won 9 Premiership titles, and in 2007 made it through to the semi-finals. The Club has a large and loyal supporter base of over 30,000 members
Adelaide Crows Football Club
Ricoh have been corporate partners of the Adelaide Crows since 2003. The Club was established in late 1990 and now boasts the largest membership base in the AFL with current members at around 51,000. The club has won two premierships (1997 and 1998) and has competed in the finals in six of the past seven seasons.
Canberra Philharmonic Society
In 2007 Ricoh became sponsors of the Canberra Philharmonic Society or 'Philo' as its known which is an amateur musical theatre company based in Canberra. Philo brings together the best of Canberra’s amateur actors with professional directors, musical directors and choreographers. The Philo Orchestra comprised only of professional musicians, backs every show. The 2007 season of Philo saw sold out audiences to most shows, with an extended season of Cats being run due to the popularity.
West Australian Symphony Orchestra
Since 2002, Ricoh has been a Symphony Supporter Partner of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, WA's largest performing arts companies. Performing over 170 concerts each year with some of the world’s most illustrious conductors and soloists to audiences in excess of 180 000, the orchestra plays a central role in the musical life of Western Australia. In 2007, Ricoh signed on to continue supporting WASO for a further 3 years.
World Police and Fire Games
In 2007 Ricoh were silver sponsors for the World Police and Fire Games. The Games were first held in 1985 in San Jose, California USA and are held every two years. Since then they have become one of the world’s largest mass participation sporting events, with over 10,000 competitors from 60+ countries. In 2007 The WPFG were held in Adelaide, where there were 5,000 international competitors, 5,000 national competitors and 2,000-3,000 non-competing visitors.This spectacular 10-day international event offers firefighters, law enforcement, correctional services and customs officers a chance to compete in 79 sporting events.
Police Tattoo
The 2008 Commonwealth Bank Police Tattoo is an exciting initiative of the South Australian Police. The Commonwealth Bank Police Tattoo helps to build community relationships through music and performance. In 2006 Ricoh were gold sponsors of the event which was held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre to capacity audiences. Ricoh will once again be gold sponsors of the May 2008 event to be held in Adelaide, the fourth Commonwealth Bank Police Tattoo involving Police and Military Bands from around the world.
Commonwealth Bank
In mid 2008, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) announced the launch of their ‘Commonwealth Bank Car Centre’ to allow both current and new customers access to a dedicated on-line application and approval system. To promote the new service and Car Centre, CBA in Victoria purchased a Holden Commodore race car with Ricoh as proud sponsors. The car will be used in various races as well as some local events.
