New five star distribution centre signifies Ricoh's strategic transition

Sydney, 22 November, 2012: Ricoh Australia signified its ongoing investment in innovation and best practice workflows at a soil turning ceremony last Friday at the future site of its new distribution centre in Eastern Creek.

The distribution centre, set to open in the second half of next year, will house the company’s warehouse, national contact centre, technical response centre and technical support.

"This leading-edge facility will further increase our expertise and capability to respond to customers quickly and efficiently,” said Les Richardson, Managing Director, Ricoh Australia. “We are introducing a range of innovative advances in how we work and how we deliver our services to customers.”

The new five star green star rated building will include training facilities, a national run up centre to speed up delivery and installation of new devices at customer sites, and a centralised service centre for improved national support to our customers.

The relocation of the distribution centre from Frenchs Forest to Sydney’s major freight corridor offers the ability to increase the movement of products to customers, with the introduction of new warehouse management systems through state of the art technology and automation.

“These facilities will not only help us stand by our value proposition of delivering less cost, waste, complexity and CO2 – it offers opportunities for the staff to train and work in a centre of excellence that provides career development and progression,” Richardson concluded.
