BLI "Picks" Ricoh colour printer and MFDs

Ricoh was honoured three fold with the recent publication of the Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) awards. The announcement saw the Ricoh Aficio SP C431DN* awarded a BLI “Outstanding A4 Printer for Mid-Size Workgroup” award, the Ricoh Aficio MP C7501SP awarded “Outstanding 70- to 80-ppm A3 Color MFP” and the Ricoh Aficio MP C6501SP awarded “Outstanding 60- to 70-ppm A3 Color MFP”.

After extensive assessments of key factors such as reliability, image quality, productivity, ease of use and cost of ownership, it was revealed that the Ricoh Aficio SP C341DN printer is the ideal budget-friendly choice for busy workgroups.

“Not only does the unit provide great feedback to users when there is a problem, but it’s easy to use and fast, too,” said BLI Associate Editor Carl Schell. “And the included Economy Color selection in the driver and standard automatic duplexing help conserve resources and contribute to a lower TCO.”

“With the Aficio SP C431DN, Ricoh aims to provide mid-sized workgroups with a first-class A4 colour printer,” said Philip Henry, General Manager Marketing & Product Management, Ricoh Australia.  “We are excited to receive this recognition from BLI. Winning this ‘Pick of the Year’ award allows our product to stand out in a very competitive segment, while reaffirming Ricoh’s tradition of offering printers with outstanding features and a low total cost of ownership.”

The Ricoh Aficio MP C7501SP and C6501SP MFPs were clear winners in the categories of “Outstanding 70- to 80-ppm A3 Color MFP” and “Outstanding 60- to 70-ppm A3 Color MFP”, earning excellent to very good marks in network connectivity areas such as ease of network setup, feedback to workstations and print drivers. Both models also proved highly productive in black mode.

Results of BLI’s job stream test for these two models, which simulates real-world usage with multiple jobs being sent to the device at once, were among the best in their class. Tested speed and efficiency were also among the highest in the class when printing and copying sets, for both single-sided and double-sided documents. In addition, first-copy times were among the highest in colour for their class.

“As more companies look to keep a higher percentage of printing in-house, the Ricoh Aficio MP C7501SP and C6501SP are value-packed solutions, offering outstanding reliability along with robust feature sets and the flexibility to play in more graphics-intensive environments with the availability of an EFI Fiery controller,” said George Mikolay, BLI Senior Product Editor.
