Media dryer allows customers to get more from their Ricoh InfoPrint 5000

Sydney, 30 October, 2012: Ricoh Australia Ricoh InfoPrint customers can enjoy added functionality with new field enhancements now available on the Ricoh InfoPrint 5000 range.

The key enhancement is the addition of a media dryer which significantly increases the types of stock now supported by the Ricoh InfoPrint 5000’s inkjet technology.

The enhancements offer benefits to transaction customers wanting to expand into promotional markets as well as commercial printers who require the ability to print on a wide range of stocks.

“Current customers who use the Ricoh InfoPrint 5000 for transactional documents may be outsourcing their printing for direct mail and other marketing campaigns that require special stocks. These customers will benefit from the enhancements by having the option to bring outsourced work back in-house and offering faster turnaround times and new products to their clients,” said René Kisselbach, Strategy Manager of Continuous Solutions for Ricoh Australia.

Customers will only need to use the new dryer for certain papers and operators can turn the drying option on and off as needed.

“Commercial printers, especially, need to print on a variety of paper stocks, so this greatly offers their ability to meet customer demand,” said Kisselbach.

Other field enhancements available to the Ricoh InfoPrint 5000 range include a new speed option of 96 metres per minute for extended media handling capability1, enhanced halftones for more complex print jobs such as books containing images and gray-levels2 and the addition of a “U” configuration improving operator productivity3.

The announcement reinforces Ricoh’s commitment to constantly extending the functionality of the InfoPrint 5000 for customers.

“It is of the utmost importance for us to listen and respond to our customers needs, as well as what we believe will be important to them in the future. We have continuously demonstrated this by providing upgradeable enhancements to protect their investments,” Kisselbach said.

The InfoPrint 5000 range include the General Production Platform, Multipurpose Platform and Volume Platform. All three are built with the same core technology but address different application and volume requirements. All are designed to provide ease of use, conserve energy, produce superb quality, maximise productivity, offer an array of ink/fluid choices, including MICR, and work with multiple data streams.

2. Enhanced halftones on the InfoPrint 5000 MD3/4 and KM3.
3. “U” configuration for InfoPrint 5000 GP Colour AD3/AD4 with MICR model XR3.
